This oval digital alarm clock keeps the essentials in clear view, with large numbers on a wide screen set into a smooth white case with softly rounded ends. Alongside the time, the screen gives a temperature reading in degrees Celsius, the date and the day of the week, so one glance first thing tells you more than the hour. Press the LIGHT button and the screen glows blue, easy to read in a dark bedroom without switching on a lamp. It stands 6.5cm high, 15cm wide and 5.5cm deep, a compact size that sits neatly on a bedside table or a desk.

On a bedside table it is the clock you reach for in the morning, and on a desk, a shelf or a hall table it keeps the time and the date in plain sight through the day.
