Description

This outdoor up down wall light is a 160mm-high cylindrical fitting machined from 304-grade stainless steel, with dual GU10 lamp holders directing light upward and downward from a wall-mounted backplate. The IP65 rating provides full protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction, allowing year-round outdoor installation in exposed positions including coastal areas where salt spray is present.

Designed for driveways, porch entrances, garden walls and building facades, the dual-direction light output highlights vertical surfaces upward while casting downward illumination onto pathways, steps or doorways. The 92mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact while the 62mm cylinder diameter maintains visibility without overwhelming smaller residential facades. Each GU10 socket accepts LED or halogen bulbs up to 35W, giving flexibility to choose warm or cool colour temperatures and dimming capability depending on the bulb specification.

The brushed stainless steel finish resists corrosion and weathers to a consistent silver-grey tone rather than rusting, making it suitable for installation on brick, render, stone and timber cladding. The clear glass top and bottom diffusers allow maximum light output from the bulbs while protecting the lamp holders from rain and debris. The Class I earthing requirement means the fitting must be connected to a properly earthed outdoor circuit during installation.

What bulbs does it take?

The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs, one in the top aperture and one in the bottom. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm white LED GU10 bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for exterior lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 bulbs you install. If you fit dimmable LED GU10 bulbs and connect the fitting to an outdoor-rated dimmer circuit, it will dim. Non-dimmable bulbs or a standard on/off switch will give fixed-output lighting.

Can it be used in coastal areas?

Yes. The 304-grade stainless steel construction resists salt spray and coastal corrosion better than mild steel or aluminium alternatives. The IP65 rating also protects internal components from moisture ingress in exposed positions.
