Description

The Otto is a 5 light wall or semi-flush ceiling light built from individually formed glass shades in frosted white, smoke grey and glossy black, arranged along a polished chrome bar. Each shade houses a G4 halogen bulb (sold separately), and the five shades are positioned at different angles to create an asymmetric, sculptural profile when viewed from the side.

Designed as a feature piece for hallways, dining room walls, or low-ceiling living spaces where a traditional pendant drop would sit too low, the Otto works equally well mounted vertically as a wall light or horizontally as a semi-flush ceiling fitting. The 615mm overall length suits walls between 2-3m wide, or ceilings in rooms of 10-15m². The 140mm projection from the wall means it needs clearance space where doors or furniture might swing close.

The glass shades are hand-blown, so each piece shows slight variation in shape and thickness — no two Otto fittings look identical. The polished chrome bar and fittings give high reflectivity in daylight, while the mix of frosted white, grey and black glass diffuses the halogen light differently across each shade. The fitting is dimmable with a trailing-edge dimmer (not included), allowing output to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.

The Otto takes five G4 halogen capsule bulbs, up to 20W per socket (100W total). The fitting is not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs — only halogen. Bulbs are sold separately.
