Description

The Otto is a 3-light semi-flush ceiling or wall fitting, built around three sculptural glass shades that curve and overlap on a polished chrome mounting plate. Each shade houses a single G4 bulb (sold separately), with the glass combining frosted white and black sections to diffuse and direct the light. The chrome base and black accents give the fitting a dual-tone finish that works in both warm and cool-toned contemporary interiors.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.5m or for wall installation in hallways, landings and living rooms, the Otto projects only 120mm from the mounting surface, making it suitable where pendant lights would hang too low or where a flush-to-ceiling fitting is needed without sacrificing visual interest. The 240mm overall length allows the fitting to illuminate a zone rather than a single point, making it useful over console tables, in alcoves, or flanking mirrors.

The sculptural glass shades are hand-formed, so minor variation in the curve and thickness is normal between individual pieces. The frosted white sections diffuse the G4 bulbs while the black sections create contrast and shadow on the surrounding surface. The fitting is compatible with trailing-edge dimmers when paired with dimmable G4 halogen bulbs, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full brightness down to a soft glow. Not compatible with LED or CFL G4 bulbs.

Rooms taller than 2.5m will still take the Otto, though the 120mm projection reads as a subtle detail rather than a feature from further below. At only 0.78kg the fitting sits within the load most ceiling roses and standard junction boxes will carry without extra bracing.

What bulbs does the Otto take?

The fitting takes three G4 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Only G4 halogen bulbs are compatible. LED and CFL G4 bulbs are not supported due to the transformer design. We suggest fitting 10W or 20W G4 halogen bulbs for adequate light output.

Can it be installed on a wall?

Yes. The Otto is designed for both semi-flush ceiling mounting and wall mounting. The 120mm projection from the surface works well for wall installation in hallways, over console tables, or flanking mirrors.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable G4 halogen bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer. Standard rotary or leading-edge dimmers may cause flickering or buzzing with the low-voltage transformer.

What ceiling height is needed?
