Description

The Otto is a 2 light wall or semi-flush ceiling light built around three hand-formed glass elements, one clear, one frosted white, and one glossy black, arranged on a polished chrome backplate. Each glass piece resembles a curved petal or leaf, clustered together to form an asymmetric sculptural composition. Two G4 bulbs sit behind the glass, casting light through the frosted and clear elements while the black element acts as a visual anchor.

Designed to mount flush on walls or low ceilings, the Otto suits hallways, bedrooms and feature walls in living spaces where ceiling height or layout rules out a pendant. The 120mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting close to the surface, making it appropriate for narrow corridors. The fitting can also be installed on a ceiling as a semi-flush light, where the 300mm height gives presence without dropping as far as a traditional pendant.

The polished chrome backplate and stem contrast with the organic shapes of the glass, giving the fitting a mid-century modern character that pairs well with both period and contemporary interiors. The frosted white glass diffuses the light from the G4 bulbs, while the clear glass element allows more direct light transmission. The black glass does not transmit light but adds depth and tonal variation to the composition when viewed from different angles.

The fitting is dimmable when paired with a trailing-edge dimmer, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full output down to a low ambient glow. The G4 socket accepts halogen capsule bulbs up to 20W per socket (40W total). LED G4 retrofit bulbs are not compatible with this fitting due to transformer requirements.

The Otto takes two G4 halogen capsule bulbs up to 20W each (40W total). Bulbs are sold separately. LED G4 retrofit bulbs are not compatible with this fitting due to the built-in transformer.

Can it be installed on both walls and ceilings?

Yes. The fitting is designed for dual installation, either as a wall light with 120mm projection, or as a semi-flush ceiling light with 300mm drop. The same backplate and mounting hardware works for both applications.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a trailing-edge dimmer. Standard rotary or slide dimmers may cause flicker or buzzing due to the transformer. A trailing-edge dimmer is required for smooth dimming performance.

What ceiling height is needed for semi-flush installation?

The 300mm drop from ceiling to base of the glass works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower ceilings the fitting may feel visually heavy, though the compact 130mm width keeps the footprint small.
