Description

The Orio is a 165cm tall rectangular wall mirror framed in gold leaf-finished MDF with a bevelled central glass and a 4cm total depth. The frame has softly rounded edges rather than sharp corners, giving a gentler profile when hung on the wall. The gold leaf finish is hand-applied over the MDF substrate, creating a warm metallic surface that varies slightly across the frame depending on how the leaf catches the light.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms and dressing areas where a full-length reflection is needed, the Orio can be hung vertically or horizontally depending on wall space and room layout. At 165cm tall by 50cm wide in vertical orientation, the mirror provides a head-to-toe view for anyone up to approximately 185cm height when mounted with the base at floor level. The bevelled edge on the glass creates a subtle framed border effect where the mirror meets the gold leaf, adding depth without requiring a wide frame profile.

The MDF frame construction keeps the weight to 12.8kg, which is lighter than a solid timber or metal-framed mirror of equivalent size. The 4cm depth includes both the frame thickness and the standoff from the wall created by the mounting brackets. Yes. The mirror can be mounted either vertically (165cm tall by 50cm wide) or horizontally (50cm tall by 165cm wide) depending on your wall space and preference. The mounting brackets accommodate both orientations.

What wall fixings are needed for 12.8kg?

The mirror weighs 12.8kg and requires two secure wall fixings rated for at least 7-8kg each. On plasterboard walls, use heavy-duty plasterboard anchors or locate wall studs for screw fixing. On masonry, standard wall plugs and screws are suitable.

Is the gold leaf finish durable?

The gold leaf is applied to the MDF frame and sealed, making it reasonably durable for normal use. Avoid placing the mirror in high-humidity environments like bathrooms where moisture can affect the MDF substrate over time. Wipe the frame with a dry microfibre cloth to clean.

Does the bevelled glass add thickness?

The bevel is cut into the front surface of the mirror glass at the edges, creating a framed border effect where the glass meets the gold leaf frame. It does not add thickness but provides visual depth and helps define the boundary between mirror and frame.
