Description
The Orio is a 165cm tall asymmetrical wall mirror framed in hand-applied gold leaf over a wooden base. The frame follows a soft triangular outline with gently curved edges rather than straight lines, giving the mirror an organic, pebble-like profile. The gold leaf is applied by hand, so each frame shows slight variations in tone and texture where the individual leaf sheets overlap.
Designed for contemporary interiors where mirrors serve both functional and decorative roles, the Orio suits hallways, bedroom walls opposite windows, and living room walls where reflected light can open up the space. The mirror can be hung vertically as shown or rotated to horizontal orientation depending on the wall dimensions and furniture layout. At 19kg with a 3cm frame depth, it needs secure wall fixings into masonry or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone.
The gold leaf finish provides a warmer metallic accent than polished brass or chrome, reading more yellow-gold in daylight and catching ambient light in the evening. The asymmetrical shape means the mirror works better as a standalone piece than in symmetrical pairs, and the curved edges soften the visual impact compared to rectangular frames with sharp corners. The 165x85cm dimensions suit full-length reflection when mounted vertically, or work as an over-sofa or over-console statement piece when mounted horizontally.

Frequently Asked
Can this mirror be hung horizontally?
Yes. The asymmetrical shape works in both vertical and horizontal orientations. Hanging hardware on the rear allows for either mounting position depending on your wall space and furniture layout.
What wall fixings are needed for 19kg?
The 19kg weight requires secure fixings into masonry or timber studs. Standard plasterboard fixings will not support this mirror safely. Use appropriate wall anchors rated for at least 25kg, or locate timber studs and fix directly into them.
Does the gold leaf finish vary between mirrors?
Yes. Each frame is hand-finished with individual sheets of gold leaf, so slight tonal variation and visible overlap marks are inherent to the process. No two Orio mirrors will be identical in finish detail.
How is the gold leaf frame maintained?
Dust the frame with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Avoid touching the gold leaf surface with fingers, as oils can darken the finish over time. Do not use liquid cleaners, polish or glass cleaner on the frame itself.
