Oriel LED Flush Ceiling Light 38W 3000K - Gold & Black

The Oriel is a 46cm LED flush ceiling light built around two overlapping circular frames — a gold-toned inner disc and a matt black outer ring — with an integrated 38W 3000K LED behind an opal acrylic diffuser. The overlapping geometry creates a layered visual effect where the gold disc appears to float within the black ring, casting soft ambient light through the opal panel.

Designed for ceiling mounting in rooms with heights of 2.4m or lower where a pendant would hang too low, the Oriel also mounts to walls as an oversized wall light in corridors, hallways and bedroom feature walls. The 9cm projection from the ceiling keeps the fitting close to the surface, making it suitable for low ceilings and loft conversions where recessed downlights cannot be fitted. The IP20 rating limits the Oriel to dry indoor locations — living rooms, bedrooms, hallways and dining rooms.

The gold finish on the inner disc is a warm metallic tone that pairs with brass hardware, warm oak timber and cream-toned interiors, while the matt black outer ring anchors the fitting visually and works in contrast-led schemes. The opal diffuser hides the LED board and spreads the 38W output evenly across the ceiling plane, avoiding hotspots. At 2.32kg the fitting requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or a wall with appropriate fixings for the substrate.

Schuller manufactures the Oriel in Spain using steel for the gold disc and aluminium for the matt black ring. The 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white output comparable to halogen, and the CRI of >80 renders colours naturally under the light. The overlapping rings measure 46cm at the widest point and 40cm on the perpendicular axis, giving the fitting an oval footprint when viewed from directly below.

Is the Oriel suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 9cm projection from the ceiling makes the Oriel well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower, including loft conversions and modern apartments where a pendant would hang too low.

Can it be dimmed?

The integrated 38W LED requires a compatible mains dimmer. Check with the manufacturer or contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

Can it be fitted to a wall?

Yes. The Oriel mounts to both ceilings and walls. On a wall it acts as an oversized wall light, suitable for hallways, corridors and bedroom feature walls where ambient light is needed without a table lamp.

What rooms is it suitable for?

The IP20 rating limits the Oriel to dry indoor locations — living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, dining rooms and home offices. It is not rated for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor use.
