Description

The Orb is an 80cm cluster chandelier built from 37 frosted white glass globes, suspended on individual fine chains from a matt black ceiling rose, drop rod and central hub. Each globe houses a G9 lamp socket, and the globes are arranged at varying heights to form a dense, cloud-like body of light around the lower half of the fitting.

This is a fitting for larger rooms with generous ceiling height. The 80cm diameter and 85cm overall height suit double-height entrance halls, stairwells, vaulted living rooms and dining rooms over a long table or kitchen island. The 150cm cable allows the cluster to be hung well clear of head height in spaces with 3m or higher ceilings, or shortened on installation for lower rooms.

The matt black finish on the rod, hub and ceiling rose gives a defined graphic line against a pale ceiling, while the chains read as fine vertical strokes between the rod and globes. The frosted glass diffuses each G9 bulb evenly, so the cluster glows as a single mass rather than 37 individual points of light. Glass and metal construction keeps the fitting visually weightless despite the globe count.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Orb takes 37 x G9 bulbs. Bulbs are sold separately. We recommend warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K to match the soft tone of the frosted glass and to keep total power draw low across all 37 sockets.

What ceiling height is needed?

With an 85cm fitting height plus a 150cm cable, the Orb is intended for ceilings of 3m or above when hung at full drop. The cable can be shortened on installation for lower ceilings, but the 80cm diameter and full body of globes make this a fitting best suited to rooms with generous proportions.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the G9 bulbs fitted and the dimmer switch used. Standard non-dimmable LED G9s will not dim; dimmable LED G9s require a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer. Contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm compatibility.

How is the frosted glass cleaned?

Switch off at the wall and allow the bulbs to cool. Wipe each globe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For dust trapped between globes, a soft brush or low-pressure air duster is effective. Avoid sprays and chemical cleaners on the glass and chains.
