Description
The Opalis is a continuous-loop LED wall light with an integrated 27W 3000K LED behind an opal acrylic diffuser, mounted on a circular matte white backplate. The loop traces an asymmetric oval approximately 40cm wide by 46cm tall, with the diffuser following the inner edge of the frame to cast soft ambient light outward and behind the fitting.
Designed for hallways, landings, bedroom reading positions and spaces adjacent to artwork or mirrors, the Opalis provides ambient wall wash rather than directed task light. The dimmable output allows adjustment from full 1,396lm brightness down to a low-level night light, controlled via a compatible mains dimmer switch. The 6cm projection from the wall keeps the fitting close to the surface while the asymmetric loop shape creates visual interest without the bulk of traditional wall sconces.
The matte white finish on both the metal loop frame and circular backplate reflects a soft, low-sheen tone that sits comfortably in contemporary and minimalist interiors. The opal acrylic diffuser hides the LED strip from view when the light is off and softens the light output when on, preventing harsh glare. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry interior use only — not suitable for bathrooms, shower rooms or external walls.
The Opalis weighs 0.75kg installed and requires a standard UK mains connection behind the backplate. The continuous loop is a single formed piece, so there are no visible joins or seams once the fitting is mounted. Frequently Asked
Is the Opalis dimmable?
Yes. The integrated 27W LED is dimmable and requires a compatible mains dimmer switch. Not all dimmer switches support LED loads — check the dimmer manufacturer's specifications before pairing.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. The IP20 rating restricts the Opalis to dry interior spaces only. It cannot be installed in bathrooms, shower rooms or on external walls where moisture is present.
What colour is the light output?
The integrated LED produces 3000K warm white light at 1,396 lumens when at full brightness. The opal acrylic diffuser softens the output and hides the LED strip from direct view.
How far does it project from the wall?
The fitting projects 6cm from the wall surface once installed. The circular backplate mounts flush to the wall and the loop frame extends forward from the backplate.
