Description

The Opal is a single recessed LED spotlight with a 60mm diameter white powder-coated die-cast aluminium body housing an integrated 7W 3000K LED. The cylindrical light head pivots and rotates within a recessed ceiling plate, allowing the beam to be angled towards specific features, artwork or room zones after installation. A transparent knurled acrylic diffuser at the aperture softens the LED output.

Designed for residential and commercial interiors with accessible ceiling voids, the Opal fits flush into plasterboard, acoustic tile or suspended ceiling systems with a minimum void depth of 90mm. The 87mm overall height includes the recessed plate and light cylinder projection. The adjustable head makes it suitable for accent lighting in living rooms, retail displays, gallery walls, office task zones and hospitality spaces where directed light is needed without visible surface-mounted fittings.

The white powder-coated finish on the visible parts gives a clean modern appearance that blends into white ceilings or provides a neutral contrast on darker surfaces. A black rear cover sits behind the visible cylinder, and a black internal front ring frames the diffuser aperture. The die-cast aluminium construction provides heat dissipation for the LED module and structural rigidity for the pivot mechanism. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor environments only.

What ceiling void depth is needed?

The Opal requires a minimum 90mm ceiling void depth to accommodate the 87mm overall height of the fitting and allow clearance for wiring connections behind the recessed plate.

Can the light direction be adjusted after installation?

Yes. The cylindrical light head pivots and rotates within the recessed ceiling plate, allowing the beam angle to be changed to highlight different features or room areas without re-fixing the fitting.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The light operates at full 7W output when powered.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the Opal to dry indoor environments only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any location where it may be exposed to moisture or direct water contact.
