Description
The Onda is a 25cm wide crystal wall light built around a dense mesh of faceted K9 crystals set within a chrome-plated rectangular frame. Three G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit behind the crystal layer, casting light through the faceted surfaces to create refracted patterns across walls and ceilings. The crystals are arranged in a structured grid that holds them in position while allowing light to pass through multiple angles.
Designed as ambient accent lighting rather than primary illumination, the Onda suits hallways, powder rooms, dressing areas and living room feature walls where decorative impact matters as much as light output. The horizontal 25cm x 13cm format works above console tables, flanking bathroom mirrors, or paired symmetrically either side of a bed headboard. At 8cm projection from the wall, the fitting sits close enough to work in narrow corridors without protruding into circulation space.
The chrome frame provides a high-gloss reflective surface that amplifies the crystal refraction effect and pairs with both cool-toned contemporary interiors and warmer traditional schemes. K9 crystal is optical-grade glass with a higher lead content than standard glass, giving it greater refractive index and more pronounced light dispersion. The 0.8kg weight includes both the chrome frame and crystal layer, requiring secure fixing to a solid wall rather than plasterboard alone.
The IP20 rating limits the Onda to dry indoor locations only — it is not suitable for bathrooms unless installed well away from showers and baths. The three G9 bulbs deliver a combined 550 lumens at the rated 42W halogen output, though most users now fit LED G9 bulbs at 3-5W each to reduce energy consumption while maintaining similar brightness.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Onda take?
The fitting takes three G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. The specification lists 42W total output, which suggests three 14W halogen G9 bulbs. Most users now fit LED G9 bulbs at 3-5W each to reduce energy consumption while maintaining similar brightness and avoiding the heat output of halogen.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The IP20 rating means the Onda is not rated for damp or wet locations. It can only be installed in bathrooms if positioned well away from showers, baths and basins where direct water spray or steam condensation could reach the fitting.
How is the crystal cleaned?
K9 crystal is optical-grade glass and can be cleaned with a soft microfibre cloth and a mild glass cleaner or distilled water. Switch off and allow bulbs to cool before cleaning. Avoid abrasive cloths or chemical solvents that might damage the chrome frame.
What wall fixing is needed?
At 0.8kg the Onda requires secure fixing to a solid wall or into timber studwork behind plasterboard. Standard plasterboard fixings alone are not sufficient — use cavity anchors rated for at least 2kg load or locate the back plate over a stud.
