Ocaso Circle Wall Mirror Gold & Black - 90cm

The Ocaso is a 90cm circular wall mirror with a glass frame split into alternating gold leaf and black segments, creating a radial pattern around the central mirror plate. The gold segments are hand-applied gold leaf on glass, giving a textured metallic finish that catches light differently from every angle. The black segments provide contrast and define the radial structure.

Designed for hallways, living room feature walls and above console tables or sideboards, the Ocaso works in rooms with wall space of at least 120cm width to allow visual breathing room around the mirror. At 13.9kg the mirror requires secure wall fixings into solid wall construction or timber studs rather than plasterboard alone. The 2cm frame depth gives the mirror enough projection to cast a subtle shadow line on the wall, separating it visually from the surface behind.

The gold leaf finish varies slightly between individual mirrors depending on how the leaf settles during application, so no two Ocaso mirrors reflect light in exactly the same way. The black glass segments are spray-lacquered on the reverse, giving an opaque finish that reads as solid black from the front. The radial segmentation divides the frame into twelve sections, with the gold and black alternating to create a sunburst-style pattern without extending beyond the circular perimeter.

How is the mirror mounted?

The Ocaso has D-ring or keyhole fixings on the reverse. At 13.9kg it requires wall plugs into solid brick, block or concrete, or screws into timber studs if mounting on stud partition walls. Plasterboard fixings alone are not sufficient.

Does the gold finish vary between mirrors?

Yes. The gold leaf is hand-applied to each glass segment, so the texture and the way light reflects off the surface varies between individual pieces. This is a characteristic of the hand-finishing process, not a defect.

Can it be hung in a bathroom?

The Ocaso is a decorative wall mirror designed for dry interior spaces. It is not rated for high-humidity environments like bathrooms with regular shower or bath use, as moisture can affect the adhesion of the gold leaf over time.

What wall colour works best behind it?

The black and gold contrast shows most clearly against mid-tones and lighter neutrals — whites, off-whites, greys and soft beiges. On very dark walls the black segments blend into the background and reduce the radial definition.
