O2 1 Light Floor Lamp - Polished Chrome

The O2 is a 1.6m floor lamp from Mantra with a 300mm rippled glass shade mounted on a polished chrome stem and circular base. The shade is formed from clear glass pressed with a wave-like surface texture that refracts light into shifting patterns on surrounding walls and ceilings. A single E27 bulb sits inside the shade — the lamp accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage rating (sold separately).

Designed for living rooms, reading corners and hallways where ambient light and sculptural form are both priorities, the O2 provides indirect upward light through the open top of the shade and directional downward light through the rippled glass sides. The tall stem lifts the shade to approximately 1.3-1.4m from floor level, positioning it above typical seating height and allowing the light to spread across a room rather than pooling at floor level. The circular base provides stability for the 8.9kg weight.

The polished chrome finish on the stem and base provides a mirror-like reflective surface that pairs with modern and contemporary interiors, particularly those with other chrome or stainless steel fixtures. The rippled texture of the glass shade is visible even when the lamp is switched off, giving the fitting a sculptural presence in daylight. When lit, the ripples scatter the light beam into overlapping arcs rather than a uniform glow, creating movement in the light quality that changes depending on viewing angle.

The lamp is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb. This allows the light output to be adjusted from full brightness for task lighting to a lower ambient level for evening use, making the O2 suitable for rooms where lighting needs shift throughout the day.

What bulb does it take?

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Maximum wattage depends on bulb type — check the specification table for the exact rating. Most users pair this with a 6-10W warm-white LED or a vintage-style filament bulb for ambient lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the lamp can be dimmed when used with both a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch fitted to the mains circuit. The lamp itself does not include an integrated dimmer.

How stable is the base?

The circular base and 8.9kg total weight provide good stability on hard floors and short-pile carpets. The lamp should be positioned away from high-traffic areas where it might be knocked, particularly in households with children or pets.

How is the rippled glass cleaned?

The rippled texture can trap dust in the grooves. Clean with a dry microfibre cloth for regular maintenance. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with warm water works, but ensure the lamp is switched off and cool before wiping.
