Description

The Nyxara Small is a 180mm-diameter double-tiered pendant light built around two horizontal discs of natural Spanish alabaster, stacked with a clear gap and threaded onto a vertically ribbed matt black metal core. An integrated 8W LED at 3000K is concealed within the structure, washing both alabaster discs from above and below so the stone itself becomes the visible light source. Total height is 250mm.

At this compact scale the Nyxara suits smaller spaces where a full-size tiered pendant would feel heavy: cloakrooms, en-suites, narrow hallways, kitchen island ends, bedside positions in place of a table lamp, or stairwell drops. It also works well in clusters of two or three at staggered heights over a dining table or kitchen island. The flex suspension carries the pendant from a standard UK ceiling rose and the drop can be shortened on installation.

Each alabaster disc is cut from a single block, so the veining, density and translucency vary between pieces and between the two discs on a single fitting. The matt black ribbed core gives the pendant a strong vertical axis that contrasts with the horizontal stone tiers, and the ribbing catches light along its length rather than reflecting it as a single plane. A ball detail at the top of the core and a rounded finial at the base bookend the composition.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. At 250mm tall and 180mm in diameter, this small version of the Nyxara suits rooms with ceiling heights from around 2.3m upwards. The flex drop can be shortened on installation to clear lower ceilings or to position the pendant closer to a worktop or bedside.

Will the two alabaster discs match each other?

The discs are cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral pattern and translucency vary between pieces. The two discs on a single pendant are not selected as a matched pair — slight differences in tone and pattern between the upper and lower disc are part of the natural material.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No IP rating is specified for this fitting, so it should not be installed within bathroom zones. Use it in standard interior locations away from direct contact with water.
