Description

The Nostalgia is a 2 light wall light from Maytoni built around an asymmetric black metal frame with brushed gold accents, carrying two frosted blown glass globes on opposing arms. Each globe houses an E14 bulb (sold separately, max 40W per fitting), and the frosted glass diffuses the light output across the wall surface and into the room.

Designed for living room feature walls, hallway accent lighting and bedroom side-of-bed positions, the 44cm horizontal span and 42cm vertical height suit wall areas with clearance of at least 50cm width and 60cm height. The asymmetric geometry — one globe positioned left-low, one right-high — creates visual interest on plain walls and pairs well with mid-century, contemporary and transitional interiors. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only.

The frame combines matt black tubing with brushed gold end caps and spherical gold mounting details, giving a two-tone contrast that works with both warm and cool colour palettes. The frosted glass globes measure approximately 15cm diameter and sit in shallow gold cradles, presenting as balanced spheres rather than directional shades. The fitting projects 17.5cm from the wall once installed, requiring sufficient clearance for the front globe not to obstruct doorways or traffic routes.

The Nostalgia takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient light.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting offers no moisture protection and must be used in dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations.

How far does it stick out from the wall?

The fitting projects 17.5cm from the wall once installed. Check that this clearance does not obstruct doorways, hallway traffic or bedside movement before fitting.

Is the asymmetric layout fixed?

Yes. The frame is a single welded assembly with the globe positions fixed at manufacture. The fitting cannot be reconfigured to a symmetrical layout or rotated to change the high/low orientation.
