The North is a 910mm ceiling fan light with retractable blades, combining an integrated 2500lm LED disc with an RGB colour-changing ring and a DC motor-driven fan. The LED offers tuneable white light between 3000K warm white and 6500K daylight white, while the RGB ring adds accent colour around the perimeter. Four transparent fan blades retract into the 430mm central body when the fan is off, leaving a flush circular profile against the ceiling.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and open-plan spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the North functions as year-round lighting with optional cooling in warmer months. The DC motor runs quieter than traditional AC fan motors and consumes less power, making it suitable for bedrooms where noise matters. All functions — light dimming, colour temperature, RGB colour selection, fan speed and direction — are controlled via the included remote, with no need for wall-mounted switches beyond mains power isolation.

The matt black finish on the motor housing and blade arms provides a contemporary contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings. When retracted, the four blades fold flush against the central disc, reducing the visual footprint to 430mm — closer to a standard flush ceiling light than a conventional fan. When the fan is activated, the blades extend outward to the full 910mm diameter, driven by centrifugal force as the motor spins. The 120° beam angle from the central LED disc provides even downlight coverage across a 12-16m² room.

How do the retractable blades work?

When the fan motor is off, the four transparent blades fold inward against the central 430mm body via spring-loaded hinges, creating a flush circular profile. When the fan is switched on via the remote, centrifugal force pulls the blades outward to their full 910mm diameter as the motor spins. No manual adjustment is needed.

Can the light and fan be used independently?

Yes. The remote control allows the LED light and the fan to be operated separately, so you can use the light without the fan, the fan without the light, or both together. The light can also be dimmed and the colour temperature adjusted independently of fan speed.

What ceiling height is required?

A minimum ceiling height of 2.4m is recommended. The fitting projects 325mm from the ceiling when installed on the standard rod, or up to 450mm if the optional extension rod is used. In rooms with 2.4m ceilings, the bottom of the fitting sits approximately 2.075m above the floor on the standard rod.

Is the DC motor quieter than a traditional fan motor?

Yes. DC motors produce less operational noise and vibration than conventional AC motors, making the North suitable for bedrooms and quiet living spaces. The DC motor also consumes less power at equivalent airflow compared to AC equivalents.
