Norma Ribbed Glass Pendant Light - Amber & Satin Brass

The Norma is a 200mm ribbed glass pendant light with an amber-toned glass shade, a satin brass stem and a matt black ceiling rose. The shade is moulded with vertical ribs that run from the crown down to the widest part of the glass, creating a fluted texture that refracts light into vertical bands across walls and ceilings. The pendant houses a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately).

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and breakfast bar positions, the Norma works as either a single focal pendant or grouped in pairs or threes above longer surfaces. The 45-200cm adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 600-800mm above a worktop or dining table depending on ceiling height. The amber glass warms the light output from any bulb, softening white LEDs and adding a honey tone to warmer filament bulbs.

The ribbed glass is hand-blown into a metal mould, so each shade carries slight variation in the rib depth and amber intensity depending on the section of the mould it was formed in. The satin brass stem contrasts with the matt black canopy, creating a two-tone metallic detail that pairs with both warm brass cabinet hardware and black framed doors or windows. At 1.43kg the pendant has enough presence to hold a position above a table without being heavy enough to require ceiling reinforcement in standard plasterboard.

The IP20 rating restricts the Norma to dry indoor use only. The E27 fitting accepts bulbs up to 20W, which typically translates to a 100W-equivalent LED output at around 870 lumens, providing enough light for a single dining position or a 1-1.2m section of a kitchen island.

What bulb does the Norma take?

The pendant takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 20W, sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for dining or ambient kitchen lighting. The amber glass adds warmth to any bulb, so even a cooler 4000K LED will output a softer tone.

Can the drop height be adjusted after installation?

Yes, during installation. The cable and suspension system allow adjustment between 45cm and 200cm total drop from ceiling to base of shade. Once the pendant is wired and fixed, the height is set and requires partial disassembly to change.

Is the amber glass consistent between pendants?

The glass is hand-blown into a metal mould, so slight variation in the amber tone and rib depth is normal between individual pieces. This is characteristic of the production method, not a defect.

Can multiple Norma pendants be grouped above a kitchen island?

Yes. The 200mm diameter suits grouping in pairs or threes along a kitchen island or dining table, typically spaced 600-800mm apart on a common ceiling rail or separate ceiling roses.
