Description

The Nordica is a single-light pendant combining a beech wood arm with matt black metal fittings and a 550mm tapered black fabric shade. The beech arm extends from a circular matt black ceiling plate at an angle, supporting the shade on a braided textile cable that adjusts between 440mm and 1300mm drop. The E27 bulb fitting sits inside the shade, which diffuses light downwards and outwards through the woven black fabric.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and living areas needing focused downlight with a Scandinavian aesthetic, the Nordica works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The 550mm shade diameter suits tables 1.2-1.6m wide and provides enough spread for four-person dining without overwhelming smaller spaces. The adjustable drop allows the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a table surface depending on ceiling height, or higher for ambient wash lighting in an open-plan room.

The beech wood arm provides warmth against the matt black metalwork, creating contrast without stark industrial heaviness. The black fabric shade has a tight weave that controls glare while allowing warm light to filter through the material when the bulb is lit. The braided cable echoes the textile quality of the shade and conceals the electrical core within a flexible outer sleeve. At 2.7kg the pendant has enough weight to hang stably without swaying, but remains light enough for standard ceiling fixings.

The Nordica accepts any standard E27 LED, halogen or filament bulb up to the maximum wattage stated in the specification (bulbs sold separately). Dimmable bulbs paired with a compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer allow light output to be adjusted from full brightness down to low ambient levels for evening dining.
