Description
The Noctis is a 20cm cylindrical flush ceiling light with a matt black aluminium body and a single GU10 downlight fitting recessed into the base. The 60mm diameter tube projects 200mm from the ceiling, directing focused downlight through a narrow beam angle suitable for task lighting, accent lighting over artwork, or functional corridor illumination.
Designed for spaces with low ceilings where a pendant would hang too low, the Noctis mounts flush to standard UK ceiling roses and works in hallways, kitchens above counters, reading nooks, cloakrooms and bathrooms (IP20 rated — suitable for zones outside shower/bath splash areas). The compact footprint allows multiple units to be spaced along a corridor or kitchen run without visual clutter. The downward-facing GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to 50W (sold separately), and is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulb.
The turned aluminium construction gives the fitting a solid 200mm presence without the weight of steel, and the matt black finish minimises reflections under daylight while blending cleanly with black ironmongery, dark joinery and contemporary monochrome interiors. The cylindrical form presents as a single extruded object with no visible seams or fixings once installed. From Ideal Lux, an Italian manufacturer with a 5-year warranty on this range.

Frequently Asked
Is the Noctis dimmable?
Yes, the GU10 socket is dimmer-compatible. You will need both a compatible dimmer switch and a dimmable GU10 bulb for dimming to function. Standard non-dimmable GU10 LEDs will not dim and may flicker if used with a dimmer.
What bulb does it take and is one included?
The Noctis takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 5-7W GU10 LED in 3000K warm white for hallways and task areas, or 4000K cool white for kitchens.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
The IP20 rating means the Noctis is splash-proof but not waterproof. It is suitable for bathroom zones outside the immediate shower or bath area (typically Zone 3 or outside zones), but not directly above a shower head or bath.
What ceiling height does it need?
The 200mm projection makes the Noctis suitable for ceilings as low as 2.1-2.2m without risk of head strikes in circulation areas. In rooms with ceilings below 2.1m, consider whether the downlight beam will be uncomfortably direct at eye level when standing.
