Description
The Kichler Niva is a convertible wall light and pendant fitting with a matt black dome shade paired with a satin opal glass diffuser. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the opal glass, which diffuses light evenly in all directions when wall-mounted or downwards when hung as a pendant. The fitting ships with hardware for both installation types, allowing you to choose wall or pendant configuration during fitting.
As a wall light, the Niva projects 241mm from the wall and suits positions above sinks, worktops, console tables, hallway mirrors, or side-of-bed reading positions in smaller bedrooms. As a pendant, the adjustable drop runs from 296mm minimum to 1058mm maximum, making it viable for standard 2.4m ceilings through to loft conversions and stairwells with higher drops. The compact 203mm shade diameter fits tight spaces like cloakrooms, galley kitchens, corridors, and utility rooms without overwhelming the volume.
The matt black finish on the metal dome and mounting hardware pairs cleanly with industrial, modern farmhouse, and monochrome interiors. The opal glass softens the industrial frame and prevents glare, making the fitting comfortable for task lighting at close range. The dome shade directs most of the light output downwards or outwards (depending on orientation), with enough spill from the opal glass to provide ambient fill in the immediate area. Maximum 40W E27 bulb rating gives flexibility to choose LED, halogen or filament bulbs between 4W and 40W depending on the required light level.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
The Niva takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations pair this with a 6-10W LED in 2700K-3000K for ambient task light, or a decorative filament bulb where the opal glass diffuses the visible element.
Can it be installed both ways, or do I have to choose one?
You choose wall or pendant installation during fitting. The hardware for both configurations ships with the fitting, but once installed it remains in that configuration unless re-fitted. The wiring and mounting hardware differ between the two, so switching between wall and pendant after installation requires re-wiring.
What's the projection from the wall when used as a wall light?
The fitting projects 241mm from the wall when mounted as a wall light. This suits positions above sinks, worktops and console tables where clearance is needed, but may be too deep for narrow hallways or tight side-of-bed positions.
Is the drop adjustable as a pendant?
Yes. The pendant drop is adjustable between 296mm minimum and 1058mm maximum using the supplied rod sections. This allows the fitting to work in rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings or higher loft-style spaces.
