Description

The Ninette is a 4 light island chandelier with two curved antique brass arms extending from a central column, each arm supporting two ivory white fabric shades on tapered brass fittings. The frame spans 1030mm in length and 200mm in width, designed to run parallel to dining tables and kitchen islands rather than radiate from a central point. Each shade takes an E14 bulb (sold separately), allowing the user to choose the colour temperature and wattage that suits the room.

Designed for dining rooms and kitchen islands with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Ninette hangs on an adjustable chain from 520mm to 1500mm drop, allowing the shades to be positioned 700-900mm above the table or worktop surface depending on the installation. The antique brass finish has a warmed, slightly aged patina that pairs with both traditional interiors and warmer-toned contemporary schemes. The ivory white shades diffuse the light downward while the open top allows some upward wash onto the ceiling.

The frame uses curved arms that taper towards the shade fittings, giving the chandelier a lighter visual weight than straight-armed designs of the same scale. The 2.5kg total weight requires secure ceiling fixing to a joist or reinforced ceiling rose. The dimmable specification depends on the bulbs used — pair with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch for variable light levels during dining.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Ninette take?

The chandelier takes four E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm white LED bulbs at 2700K-3000K for dining. The maximum wattage per socket depends on the bulb type — LED bulbs allow higher lumen output at lower wattage than halogen equivalents.

What table length does the 1030mm span suit?

The 1030mm length works over dining tables between 1400-2000mm long, positioned centrally to balance the light distribution. For kitchen islands the chandelier suits worktop lengths of 1200-1800mm, depending on how much overhang is preferred at each end.

Is the Ninette dimmable?

Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer. Check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the drop adjusted during installation?

The chandelier hangs on a chain that can be shortened during fitting by removing links or looping the excess chain inside the ceiling canopy. The cable runs through the chain and can be trimmed to match the desired drop length, with the excess cable concealed in the canopy.
