Description

The Nimes is a 102cm linear bar pendant carrying five rounded metal shades in matt black, dark brown and dark green finishes, suspended from a matt black rectangular canopy. Each shade houses a GU10 lamp holder, with bulbs sold separately. The shades are spaced evenly along the bar, providing multiple points of directed light over kitchen islands, dining tables or worktops.

Designed for spaces where ceiling height allows flexibility, the Nimes adjusts between 30cm and 160cm drop via the cable length on installation. This makes it suitable for both standard 2.4m ceilings and higher vaulted or open-plan spaces. The bar orientation runs perpendicular to the table or island beneath, distributing light across the length of the surface rather than concentrating it in one spot.

The three-colour palette provides tonal variation without introducing bright accent colours, keeping the fitting compatible with industrial, mid-century and contemporary interiors that lean towards muted or earthy tones. The matt finish on all five shades reduces reflections and glare, while the metal construction gives the pendant a solid 3.7kg weight that hangs without swaying. IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only.

Each of the five shades takes a GU10 bulb up to 10W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white GU10 LEDs in the 2700K-3000K range for dining and kitchen island lighting.

How high should it hang above a dining table or island?

The drop is adjustable between 30cm and 160cm on installation. For a dining table or kitchen island, the typical hang height is 70-80cm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. Higher ceilings can accommodate a longer drop.

Can the cable length be shortened after installation?

The height is set during installation by adjusting the cable length before fixing the canopy to the ceiling. Once installed, shortening the drop requires removing the fitting and re-threading the cables.

What length table or island does the 102cm bar suit?

The 102cm bar works well over tables or islands between 120cm and 180cm long. For longer surfaces, consider positioning two Nimes pendants end-to-end or selecting a longer bar pendant from the Schuller range.
