Description

The Nightfall is an 800mm outdoor bollard light built from UV-stabilised resin in a mid-tone grey finish, housing a single E27 bulb fitting (bulb sold separately) behind a cylindrical frosted diffuser. The IP55 rating protects the internal components from water jets and dust ingress, making the bollard suitable for driveways, pathways, patios and garden borders exposed to rain and wind.

Designed for permanent outdoor installation, the Nightfall mounts onto a flat surface via a circular base plate that sits flush to paving, decking or concrete. The 800mm height positions the light source above typical border plants and ground-level obstacles, directing light downward and outward to illuminate a 2-3m radius around each bollard. Spacing multiple bollards at 4-5m intervals creates continuous path lighting without over-lighting or creating harsh shadows.

The grey resin construction resists corrosion and tolerates temperatures from -60°C to +90°C, making it suitable for UK coastal environments where salt air degrades metal fittings, as well as exposed sites in the Scottish Highlands where winter lows reach -20°C. The UV stabilisation prevents the grey tone from fading to chalky white under direct sunlight over multiple summers. The 155mm diameter gives the bollard enough visual presence to be noticed as a design element during daylight without dominating a border or path edge.

Yes, the bollard is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with a dimmable E27 LED bulb. The dimmer must be rated for LED loads and installed on the mains circuit feeding the bollard.

How is it installed?

The Nightfall mounts via a circular base plate that fixes to a flat surface (paving, decking, concrete) using screws or bolts. Electrical connection is via an external-rated cable run underground or through conduit to the bollard base. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician to comply with BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Can it withstand coastal salt air?
