Description

The Nido is a five-light cluster pendant from Mantra featuring sculptural polished chrome glass forms suspended at staggered heights from a 620mm diameter satin nickel ceiling plate. Each of the five pendant elements houses an integrated LED, and the ceiling plate itself contains additional concealed LED disks, bringing the total output to 4000lm at 3000K warm white from a combined 50W power draw.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, stairwells and large living spaces with ceiling heights of 3m or above, the Nido creates both a visual focal point and functional ambient lighting. The 800mm drop positions the lowest pendant element at approximately 2.2m above floor level when hung from a standard 3m ceiling, keeping the glass clear of head height while the cluster fills vertical space. The polished chrome finish on each glass form reflects and refracts both the internal LED light and any natural or artificial light in the room, creating movement and visual interest that changes with viewing angle.

Each pendant element is an abstract organic form in blown glass with a polished chrome coating applied to the exterior surface, giving the appearance of liquid metal frozen mid-flow. The five pendants are arranged in a spiral pattern when viewed from below, with varying drop lengths creating depth. The satin nickel ceiling plate contrasts with the high-gloss pendants and houses the driver and the additional upward-facing LEDs that wash the ceiling with indirect light. At 8.3kg total weight, the fitting requires a ceiling joist or reinforced fixing point capable of supporting at least 12kg.
