The Nico is a vintage brown leather armchair and footstool, sold together: one chair and one matching footstool. The leather is a warm tan brown, lighter where it stretches over the cushions and darker in the creases, which gives both pieces a mellow, lived-in look. Each stands on a slim black steel frame. The chair has a reclined back padded in two plump tiers above a thick seat cushion, and the footstool carries a single cushion on a flat top. The chair measures 64cm wide, 70cm deep and 80cm high, and the footstool 48cm wide, 39cm deep and 43cm high. When you measure up, add the footstool's depth to the chair's, plus whatever gap you like between them.

This is a chair for sitting back rather than sitting up, so it suits a reading corner, a living room or a study where you want to settle with your feet raised. The seat sits 48cm from the floor and the footstool a little lower at 43cm, so your legs rest just below seat level. The seat is 53cm wide and 40cm deep: compare that depth with a chair you already find comfortable, because it decides where your back meets the cushions. The arms stand 62cm from the floor, which is the height to check against any side table you plan to keep beside it.

By composition the Nico is 60% steel, 20% leather, 10% wood and 10% foam, and it is made in India with hand-finished details.
