Description

A broad, low-profile white ceiling light with a DC fan built into the body, so air movement and light come from the same fitting. The LED is integrated and tuneable, running from a soft domestic white through to a crisp cool white, and the supplied remote handles both the dimming and the colour setting. Output is roughly 3800 lumens at the top of the dimming range, drawn from 19W, which is a good deal of light for a single ceiling position and plenty for a main room.

We would put this in a bedroom or a sitting room that gets close in summer, or over a kitchen diner where another pendant would only crowd the ceiling. At 132cm across it wants a room with clear space around it rather than a small box bedroom. Because everything is done from the remote, there is no need for an extra wall switch or a pull cord, which suits a room where light and fan are adjusted from the bed or the sofa. The cooler settings suit cooking and reading; the warmer end quietens the room down for the evening.

The body is finished in a plain white throughout, quiet enough to read as part of the ceiling rather than an object hung below it. The driver sits inside, and the LED is a permanent part of the fitting rather than a lamp you swap. For cleaning, switch off at the wall and go over the white surfaces with a dry soft cloth; keep water, sprays and polish away from the diffuser and the motor housing.
