Description

The Neith is a pendant light with a flattened oval shade of clear ribbed glass, hung from a slim brass lampholder on its cable. The fine vertical ribs run all the way round the glass and break up the light from the bulb inside into soft lines, so the shade has a gentle shimmer when it is lit and still looks good when it is not. It is 30cm tall and 30cm across, with 1m of cable as standard. It takes one E27 bulb at up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so you choose your own. The metalwork comes in a choice of four finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver or Satin Brass.

Its size makes the Neith a natural choice over a dining table, where one shade gives the table a clear centre, while two or three hung in a line suit a longer table. It works just as well in a living room, over a coffee table or above a favourite reading chair, where the clear glass keeps it feeling light in the space. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install.

Each Neith is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass and glass. It is a Class I fitting, so it needs an earthed lighting circuit. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. The finish is the main choice to make before you order, so pick the one that sits best with the metals already in your room, from door handles to light switches.
