Description

This cream letter plaque spells out NANA in tall cut-out letters that rise from a printed block, a warm little tribute to a much-loved grandmother. Across the front runs a soft floral print in blue, red, orange and pink, with sprigs of tiny flowers, little pink hearts and a bright red ladybird. In the centre, a pale panel carries a message in pink lettering: "Your kindness leaves a little sparkle wherever you go. Never forget how special you are". It is made from MDF and measures 8.5cm tall, 16.2cm wide and 2cm deep, a compact size that fits the narrowest shelf.

We see it on a mantelpiece, a bedside table, a bookshelf or a hall dresser, anywhere she will catch sight of that message as she passes. It stands upright on its flat base, so there are no nails, hooks or wall fixings to think about, and at only 2cm deep it tucks in among family photographs, cards and keepsakes without crowding them. The back is plain cream, with the cut-out letters showing in reverse, so it still looks neat on an open shelf or a windowsill where it can be seen from both sides. As a gift for a grandmother it says a great deal in very little space, and it suits a nana who loves a pretty country floral as much as a kind word.

The block and the cut-out letters are finished in a smooth cream, with the floral design and message printed across the front panel. To keep it looking its best, dust it now and then with a soft dry cloth, and keep it away from damp and wet cloths, as MDF is best kept dry. For a gift she will treasure, wrap it with a card from the grandchildren, or set it beside a favourite family photograph for her to find.
