The Nahla is a pendant light with a rounded glass shade, ribbed from top to bottom and softly squared at the shoulders, hanging from a slim cylindrical brass cup that flares where it meets the glass. It is made of brass and glass, and it is 32cm tall and 20cm across, a size that sits comfortably over a table without crowding the space around it. The shade comes in a choice of Ribbed or Opal glass, and the metalwork comes in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass or Satin Brass, so you can match it to the other metal in your room. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so the choice of bulb is yours.

It is rated IP20, so it is an indoor light for dry rooms only. We like it most over a dining table: one pendant suits a small round table, and a pair or a row of three looks well over a longer one. In a living room it works as a central ceiling light, or hung over a side table or beside a favourite chair, where the ribs in the glass give the room something to look at even with the light off. It hangs on 1m of cable as standard, which sets how far the shade drops below the ceiling.

Every Nahla is made to order for you in Ireland, in the finish and glass you choose. It is a mains fitting, wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. Settle on your finish and glass together, so the brass or silver tone sits well with the rest of your room, and have your bulb ready for the day your electrician hangs it.
