Description

This floral stoneware mug carries the word Mummy in flowing black script across the front, with a short verse beneath that reads: "Generous & caring, KIND & thoughtful too. you make everything MORE LOVELY, just by being YOU." Soft watercolour wildflowers in peach, coral, blue, yellow and lilac climb up either side. The back is a full meadow of large coral blooms with a little bee drifting between the stems. The mug itself is white, with a peach handle and a fine peach line around the rim. Inside, just below the rim, a second message waits: "You're the loveliest." It stands 7.5cm tall and 8cm deep and holds 300ml, a comfortable cup of tea or coffee.

We think of it first as a Mother's Day gift. The word on the front does the talking, so it suits any mum who is called Mummy. The present might come from a little one with a grown-up's help, or from a grown son or daughter who never stopped saying it.
