Description
This little glass fish figurine brings a bright burst of colour to a shelf, windowsill or desk. Its stylised body tapers to a point at the top and another at the bottom, and it is banded from nose to tail in curving multicoloured stripes of orange, red, black, white and pale green. A deep blue tail fin flares out behind, a matching blue fin sits low at the front, and the face is solid orange with a small black and white eye. It is a true miniature at 6cm high, 7cm wide and 2.5cm deep, small enough to sit in the palm of your hand and fit into the tightest of spaces.
With its cheerful stripes, this figurine suits almost any room in the house. Set it on a bathroom shelf among a few shells, on a kitchen windowsill, on a bedside table or tucked between books in the living room, and it adds a playful seaside note without taking up space. It sits happily beside a fish tank, in a glass cabinet alongside other small ornaments, or on a mantelpiece where its colours catch the eye. If you love the sea, bright colour or small glass pieces, it is an easy one to fall for.
The figurine is glass throughout, with the stripes following the curve of the body and the clearer bands letting a little daylight through. It stands upright on its own, resting on the lower edge of its body and its front fin, so it needs no stand or fixing. As with any small glass ornament, dust it with a soft dry cloth or wipe it gently with a damp cloth and dry it straight away, and keep it where it will not be knocked. We like it on a sunny windowsill where the light can play through the colours, or wrap it in tissue as a cheerful little present.
