Description

This stoneware mug set pairs two tall ivory mugs, one printed "Mr Right" and the other "Mrs Always Right", both in crisp black lettering. On the first mug, "Mr" sits large above "Right" in a classic serif type. On the second, "Mrs" is written in a flowing script, with "Always Right" set beneath it in the same serif, so the joke lands the moment the two mugs stand side by side. Each mug is 10.4cm tall, 7.4cm wide and 9.8cm deep, and holds 300ml (10.6oz), a comfortable measure for a proper mug of tea or coffee.

These are mugs made for everyday use rather than a shelf. Keep them by the kettle for the morning cuppa, set them out on the breakfast table at the weekend, or carry them through to the sofa in the evening. The tall, straight shape sits neatly in a kitchen cupboard, and the ivory colour suits most kitchens, from plain white units to warm wood. The wording does the talking: a gentle, good-humoured nod to who wins the debate at home, and a pair that is far more fun to use together than apart.

Both mugs are stoneware, with a smooth glossy surface, a gently flared rim and a generous loop handle that leaves room for your fingers. The lettering is printed in black on the outside of each mug. For care, we suggest washing them by hand in warm soapy water and drying with a soft cloth, which is good practice for any printed stoneware. As a gift, the set brings a smile with very little explaining: hand it over, let them read both mugs, and put the kettle on.
