Description

This white wooden heart plaque carries a few words for the groom's mother: 'Mother of the Groom', with 'I couldn't say I do, without you.' beneath. The word 'Mother' is set in a flowing script and 'of the Groom' in a neat typewriter-style letter. The closing line returns to the script, all in dark grey. On the left of the heart sits a small posy of flowers and greenery beside a green leaf, finished with a little tied bow. A green ribbon loops from the top for hanging. It measures 23cm high, 15cm wide and 1cm deep, so it hangs neatly from a peg, a door handle or a small hook.

The words make it a keepsake for one person: the groom's mother, thanked by her son for standing beside him. We think it is a lovely thing to give her on the wedding morning, or to tuck in with a card on the day. Afterwards it can hang in her bedroom, a hallway or a kitchen at home, where she will pass it every day and remember the occasion. At just 1cm deep, it hangs as happily from a wardrobe knob or the corner of a dressing table mirror as from a nail on the wall.
