Description

Wide and understated in black, this is a ceiling light built around a 12W DC fan motor, and it reads as a single shape rather than a stack of parts. At 84cm across it holds its own over a good span of floor without crowding the ceiling. The scale is the point: a broad sweep rather than a small fan working hard. Switching is by remote, so there is nothing to reach for on the wall and control stays in your hand.

We would put it in a bedroom or a living room where summer heat sits under the ceiling and a floor fan would only take up space. It suits a home office too, and a snug or a garden room with the height to take a fitting of this depth. Rooms need to be dry and indoors; it is not one for a bathroom, a covered porch or anything exposed to the weather. Anyone who wants air moving overhead through the warm months, and a plain dark disc the rest of the year, will get on with it.

The finish is black throughout, on the housing as much as the moving parts, which helps it settle against a dark ceiling and read cleanly against a pale one. For care, switch it off, wait for everything to come to a stop, then go over the surfaces with a dry soft cloth; dust gathers on the upper faces first, so start there. Keep the wipe light and even so the finish stays consistent, and use nothing abrasive and no solvents on the black. It carries a five year warranty.
