Description

The Mirax is a compact LED wall light built around a cylindrical swivel head mounted on a square black metal backplate measuring 85mm x 63mm. The 3W integrated LED inside the cylindrical head delivers warm 3000K light through a focused beam that can be rotated on a ball-joint mechanism, allowing the light direction to be adjusted after installation.

Designed as bedside reading light, hallway accent lighting, or focused task light in home offices, the Mirax provides directed illumination without requiring a bulky shade or exposed bulb. The swivel range allows the beam to be pointed directly down onto a bedside table, angled across a wall to create wash lighting, or aimed at a specific object or area. The compact 65mm height and minimal projection make it suitable for installation in narrow hallways and above bedheads without protruding into head-clearance zones.

The black powder-coated metal finish provides a matt surface that minimises reflections and pairs with contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry indoor locations only. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, equivalent to approximately 8-10 years of typical residential use. The square backplate conceals the fixing points and cable entry, giving a clean wall presentation once installed.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The 3W LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours, which equates to approximately 8-10 years of typical residential use before any dimming becomes noticeable.

What is the swivel range?

The cylindrical head rotates on a ball-joint mechanism, allowing the beam to be directed across approximately 180 degrees vertically and 90 degrees horizontally. This allows the light to be pointed directly down, angled across a wall, or aimed at a specific area.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting has no protection against moisture ingress and must only be installed in dry indoor locations. For bathroom use, look for fittings rated IP44 or higher.

How is it wired?

The Mirax requires connection to mains 220-240V AC wiring via a junction box or terminal block concealed behind the square backplate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK wiring regulations.
