Description

The Mirax is a 186mm-tall rectangular wall light with a cylindrical swivel head housing an integrated 3W 3000K LED. The head rotates and tilts on a ball joint, directing focused light either downward for reading or across a wall for ambient wash. The white powder-coated metal backplate measures 70mm tall by 65mm wide and mounts flush to the wall, with the cylindrical head projecting forward approximately 120mm when angled.

Designed as bedside reading lighting, the Mirax suits installation above headboards, next to armchairs, and in hallways where directed task light is needed without a table lamp. The small backplate minimises wall space usage, making it viable in narrow bedrooms and above single beds where larger swing-arm lamps would protrude too far. A slim rectangular rocker switch sits on the backplate below the swivel head, and a USB-A charging port below that allows phone charging without occupying a socket.

The 3W LED output at 3000K provides warm white task light sufficient for reading at 300-400mm distance but not enough to function as primary room lighting. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only. The white finish on the metal body is applied as powder coat over steel, providing a matt surface that resists minor scuffs and pairs with white-painted walls, Scandinavian interiors, and minimalist bedrooms where visible fixings need to remain neutral.

Frequently Asked

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 3W LED is integrated into the swivel head and rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use. The entire fitting would need replacing if the LED fails, though this is unlikely within the 3-year warranty period.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this wall light is suitable for dry indoor areas only and should not be installed in bathrooms, en-suites, or anywhere exposed to moisture.

What does the USB port charge?

The USB-A port on the backplate provides 5V output for charging phones, tablets, e-readers and similar devices. Output current varies by model but typically supports standard overnight charging.

How far does the head swivel?

The cylindrical head rotates approximately 180 degrees left-right and tilts approximately 90 degrees up-down on a ball joint, allowing light to be directed straight down, angled toward a pillow, or up onto a wall as wash lighting.
