Middlefield 4 Light Chandelier - Iron Rust

The Middlefield is a 610mm spherical chandelier built from four arched distressed wood bands that cross to form a globe cage, held by iron rust finished metalwork. Four E14 candle-style sockets sit on curved metal arms inside the sphere, each taking a single candle bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The wood bands are finished to show grain texture and distressing that suggests reclaimed timber without the structural variability of actual salvaged wood.

Designed for dining rooms, hallways and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Middlefield hangs on a 2540mm chain adjustable during installation. The minimum drop of 822mm suits standard 2.4m ceilings when the pendant sits over a dining table, while the maximum 3362mm drop accommodates double-height entrance halls and vaulted ceilings. The spherical form distributes light evenly in all directions rather than directing it downward, making this a decorative and ambient fixture rather than task lighting.

The iron rust finish on the metalwork pairs warm brown tones with the pale distressed wood, creating contrast without stark colour blocking. A pear-shaped wood finial hangs below the sphere as a counterweight detail. The 610mm diameter and 762mm fitting height give the chandelier presence in rooms up to 20m² without dominating smaller spaces. What bulbs does it take?

The Middlefield takes four E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs at 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle-flame look.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 822mm works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings when the chandelier hangs over a dining table. For hallways and living rooms where people walk beneath it, a ceiling height of 2.6m or higher is recommended to maintain clearance.

Is the wood finish sealed?

The distressed wood bands are sealed to protect against dust and handling. They can be wiped with a dry cloth. Do not use water or household cleaners on the wood as they may affect the finish.

Can the chain length be adjusted after installation?

The chain is adjusted during installation by removing or adding links before the ceiling canopy is fixed. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the canopy is removed and the chain re-adjusted.
