Middlefield 1 Light Wall Light - Iron Rust & Distressed Wood

The Middlefield is a single-bulb wall light built around a curved distressed wood bracket that extends from a circular iron rust-finish steel backplate. A traditional candle-cup holder sits on a U-shaped steel arm, taking an E14 candle bulb up to 60W (sold separately). The wood bracket creates an asymmetric silhouette that offsets the symmetrical metal components.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, dining rooms and bedroom accent walls, the Middlefield works well in groups of two or four spaced along a corridor or flanking a mirror or artwork. The 178mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of the bracket, while the 419mm height and 127mm width give enough presence for the fitting to register on a typical 2.7m wall without dominating it. The iron rust finish is a textured dark brown that shows the grain of the metal surface beneath.

The distressed wood bracket shows deliberate variation in surface texture and tonal finish, mimicking reclaimed barn wood or weathered oak beams. This is applied finish work rather than genuinely aged timber, so the wood surface remains sealed and stable under indoor conditions. The metal backplate, arm and candle-cup are steel construction, powder-coated in the iron rust finish to match the textured aesthetic. The E14 socket accepts standard small Edison screw bulbs including LED, halogen and filament types, giving flexibility to choose light temperature and brightness for the space.

What bulb does it take?

The Middlefield takes a standard E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) to mimic traditional candlelight.

Is the wood real timber or a finish?

The bracket is solid wood with a distressed finish applied to mimic reclaimed or weathered timber. It is not genuinely aged wood, but the surface texture and tonal variation are intentionally irregular to give a rustic appearance.

How far does it stick out from the wall?

The fitting projects 178mm from the wall when mounted. This keeps the bulb and candle-cup clear of the curved wood bracket and provides enough clearance for bulb changes.

Can it be used in multiples along a hallway?

Yes. The 127mm width and asymmetric design work well in pairs or groups of four spaced evenly along a corridor. Typical spacing is 1.5-2m between fittings depending on hallway length and ceiling height.
