Description

The Middlefield is a 305mm mini pendant light combining distressed solid wood arms with an iron rust finish metal frame and a seeded glass shade. Four curved wood pieces form a cage around the glass, clamped at top and bottom by circular metal plates that carry the aged rust patina. The pendant takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and hangs from an adjustable rod and chain assembly.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and hallways with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Middlefield works as a single pendant over a breakfast bar or in multiples spaced 600-800mm apart along a longer island. The adjustable drop from 354mm to 1104mm allows the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a worktop depending on ceiling height. The seeded glass diffuses light while still revealing the bulb filament inside, making the choice of bulb visible when lit.

The distressed wood arms show grain texture and tonal variation across different shades of weathered grey and pale oak, while the iron rust finish on the metal plates adds warmth through reddish-brown oxidised tones. The combined wood, metal and glass give the fitting a robust 2kg presence without overwhelming a typical 4-5m kitchen island. The aged finish on both materials pairs well with farmhouse, industrial and warm-toned traditional interiors.

The Middlefield takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. The seeded glass shade reveals the bulb inside when lit, so many users choose a vintage-style Edison filament bulb or a warm-white LED filament bulb in 2200K-2700K to complement the rustic aesthetic.

What ceiling height is needed?

The drop is adjustable on installation from 354mm to 1104mm. Yes. Each pendant uses solid distressed wood with natural grain and tonal variation. The weathering process creates different shades of grey, pale oak and aged brown across individual pieces, so no two Middlefield pendants look identical.

Can it be installed in multiples?

Yes. The Middlefield works well in groups of two or three spaced 600-800mm apart along a kitchen island or dining table. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and wiring connection.
