Micron Dimmable LED Pendant Light 5W 3000K - Gold/Black

The Micron is a 13cm diameter pendant light built around a cylindrical clear acrylic inner core with embedded decorative bubbles, wrapped in a gold-finished metal mesh outer shade. The integrated 5W LED sits inside the acrylic cylinder and casts 450lm of 3000K warm white light outward through the mesh, creating a layered glow where the gold mesh casts fine shadow patterns onto surrounding surfaces. A matt black canopy and cable suspension complete the fitting.

Designed for close-up viewing over kitchen islands, breakfast bars, bedside tables and reading nooks, the Micron works as a single pendant where a compact decorative fitting is needed, or in multiples of two or three hung at staggered heights along a counter. The adjustable drop from 45cm to 140cm allows the pendant to be set close to the ceiling in rooms under 2.3m or dropped lower in taller spaces. The dimmable LED responds to standard trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers, allowing output to be reduced from full brightness to a low glow.

The gold mesh finish is a mid-tone brushed gold that sits between bright polished brass and darker antique brass, pairing comfortably with both warm oak and walnut timbers and cooler grey-toned kitchens. The mesh itself is fine enough to diffuse the LED point source into a soft glow while remaining coarse enough to retain the industrial character of a metal cage. At 0.73kg the pendant is light enough to hang from standard UK ceiling roses without additional support.

Is this pendant dimmable?

Yes. The integrated 5W LED is dimmable and works with both trailing-edge and leading-edge dimmers. Check your dimmer switch compatibility before installation to ensure smooth dimming without flicker.

What ceiling height does it need?

The pendant drop adjusts from 45cm to 140cm. In rooms with 2.3m ceilings the minimum 45cm drop keeps the fitting compact. In taller spaces the pendant can be dropped lower, typically 60-80cm above a worktop or 70-90cm above a dining table depending on the ceiling height.

Can the gold mesh be cleaned?

The metal mesh attracts dust over time. Switch off at the mains and wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the mesh or using sprays and polishes which can leave residue between the wires.

How bright is 450lm for a 13cm pendant?

450lm at 3000K is comparable to a traditional 40W incandescent bulb. It provides enough light for task visibility directly beneath the pendant (reading, food prep) but is designed primarily as accent and ambient lighting rather than primary room illumination.
