Description

This snowy robin bauble plaque brings a little winter scene to the Christmas tree. It is shaped like a round bauble, with a small cap at the top and a green ribbon loop for hanging. Two robins with bright red breasts stand in the snow beside a sprig of greenery, set behind a clear round window, while loose white beads gather at the bottom like a fresh fall of snow. Around the sage green ring, the words "We wish you a merry christmas & a happy new year" run in neat lettering, and a plain white label sits on the cap. It measures 12cm wide and 2.2cm deep, a comfortable size for a branch of the tree.

We think it looks its best on the tree, where the robins catch the light among the baubles and the greeting can be read up close. The ribbon loop also slips easily over a cupboard knob, a door handle, a window latch or a hook on the dresser, so it can bring a seasonal touch to a hallway, kitchen or living room once the decorations go up. As a Christmas gift it makes a thoughtful small present on its own, or an extra to tuck into a parcel or tie onto a wrapped box in place of a gift tag, and it can be brought out again year after year.

The ring has a smooth sage green finish, and the back is plain green with no lettering, so the clear window lets the robins and the snowy beads show through from behind as it turns on its ribbon. To keep it looking fresh, dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from water and damp. For a natural, homely look, hang it alongside fresh greenery, pine cones and red berries, where the sage green and robin red sit happily together.
