Description

The Mercury is a wireless door chime system with a push-button transmitter and a receiver unit that sounds one of 38 selectable melodies when activated. A green LED on the receiver flashes when the button is pressed, providing visual notification alongside the audible chime. The transmitter operates on a 12V 23A battery (supplied) and the receiver runs on two AA batteries (not supplied).

Designed for homes, workshops and offices where audible alerts alone may be missed due to background noise, the LED indicator makes the system suitable for environments where hearing the chime is difficult or for users who are hard of hearing. The receiver can be wall-mounted using the keyhole slots on the rear or left free-standing on a shelf, desk or worktop. The transmitter fixes to an exterior door frame or gate post with the adhesive pad or screw fixings provided.

The system operates on a 433.92MHz digital coded radio signal with a clear-line-of-sight range of up to 100m. Walls, doors and other obstacles reduce this range in typical residential installation, but most systems maintain reliable transmission through standard brick or timber-frame walls at distances of 20-40m. The digital coding prevents interference from neighbouring wireless doorbells or car key fobs. The receiver measures 110 x 75 x 30mm and the transmitter 80 x 36.5 x 20mm.
