Description

The Mercury Heavy Duty is a 100m reel of figure 8 speaker cable built around two parallel conductors, each containing 42 strands (22 x 0.18mm copper, 20 x 0.18mm copper-clad aluminium). The combined 1.32mm² cross-sectional area and hybrid copper/CCA construction balance cost against conductivity for mid-to-long speaker cable runs in commercial audio, installed sound and residential multi-room systems.

Designed for permanent audio installations where cable runs exceed 10-15 metres, the Mercury Heavy Duty suits distributed ceiling speaker systems in bars, restaurants, retail environments and domestic multi-room setups where multiple speakers are wired back to a central amplifier. The 13A maximum current rating allows for safe use on higher-power amplifier zones, while the 4.5 x 9mm figure 8 profile can be surface-mounted, clipped into cable trunking or run behind plasterboard without requiring conduit.

The white sheath carries a black polarity line running the full length of one conductor, making it simple to maintain consistent phase across multiple speakers during installation. The figure 8 (twin flat) profile means the two conductors can be separated by hand without stripping tools when terminating into speaker binding posts or screw terminals.
