Description

The Mercury Fig 8 speaker cable is a flexible twin-core cable with 2 x 7 strand conductors combining four copper and three copper-clad aluminium strands per core, giving a 0.18mm² cross-sectional area. The grey PVC sheath includes a black polarity line running along one core to simplify positive/negative identification during installation.

Designed for residential and light commercial audio installations where standard speaker runs are needed between amplifiers and passive speakers, the cable handles loads up to 1.0A maximum continuous current. The figure 8 profile with a 1.8 x 3.6mm footprint allows the cable to be run along skirting boards, under carpets or through conduit without excessive bulk. The polarity marking removes the need to mark or test cores during termination.

The 100m reel length suits whole-home audio installs, multi-room distributed systems, and commercial background music setups where multiple speaker runs are needed from a single roll. The mixed copper/CCA construction keeps cost down for projects where conductor purity is less critical than total length coverage.
