Description

The Mercury 4-gang extension lead provides four 13A UK sockets on a 5m cable with built-in surge and spike protection for computers, monitors, routers and other sensitive electronic equipment. A green neon indicator on the housing confirms the unit is powered and the surge protection circuit is active.

Designed for home offices, workbenches, AV setups and server cabinets, the extension lead can be mounted to a wall via keyholes on the rear of the housing or left freestanding on a desk or floor. The 5m cable length allows positioning away from fixed wall sockets without relying on additional extension cords. The white plastic housing is non-rewireable, conforming to BS1363/A and BS5733 safety standards.

The surge protection circuit diverts voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, grid switching events or high-draw appliances cycling on and off, preventing damage to connected devices. The unit is tested to IEC61051, CECC 42200 and CECC 42201 standards. At 249mm long and 620g weight, the housing sits flat against a wall or workbench without tipping under the load of four plugs.

Max. current 13A

Frequently Asked

What does the surge protection cover?

The built-in surge protection circuit diverts voltage spikes and surges caused by lightning, grid switching or appliance cycling, protecting computers, monitors, routers and other sensitive electronic equipment from damage. The green neon indicator confirms the surge protection is active.

Can the extension lead be wall-mounted?

Yes. Keyholes on the rear of the housing allow the unit to be screwed to a wall, suitable for permanent installation in home offices, workshops or server cabinets. It can also be used freestanding.

What's the maximum load?

The extension lead is rated at 13A total across all four outlets, equivalent to 3,250W at 250V. Exceeding this load by plugging in multiple high-draw appliances simultaneously will trip the fuse in the plug.

Is the cable detachable or rewireable?

No. The unit is non-rewireable and conforms to BS1363/A and BS5733 standards. If the cable is damaged, the entire unit must be replaced.
