Description

The Mercury 4-gang extension lead provides four UK 13A sockets on a 5-metre cable, terminated with a standard 13A moulded UK plug. The lead is BS1363/A compliant and rated for 230Vac mains, handling a total load of 13A across all four sockets combined. Approximately 3,000W at full capacity.

Designed for home, office and workshop use where mains sockets are positioned away from desks, entertainment units or workbenches, the 5m cable run allows placement of the extension block near equipment without stretching or tension on the cable. The four sockets accept standard UK three-pin plugs and can power multiple devices simultaneously. Computers, monitors, printers, chargers, lamps. Provided the combined draw does not exceed 13A.

The white housing is lightweight ABS plastic with keyhole mounting slots on the rear panel, allowing the extension lead to be wall-mounted for tidier cable management in fixed installations. When used on floors or desks, the low-profile design keeps the block stable without taking up excessive surface area. The moulded cable entry and exit points reduce strain on the cable at the connection points.

Frequently Asked

What's the maximum load across all four sockets?

The extension lead is rated at 13A total across all four sockets combined. This equates to approximately 3,000W at 230V. Individual high-draw appliances such as kettles, heaters or vacuum cleaners should not be combined on the same extension lead.

Can it be wall-mounted?

Yes. The rear panel has keyhole mounting slots that accept standard wall fixings. This allows the extension block to be mounted horizontally on a wall behind desks or workbenches for cleaner cable routing.

Is the cable length measured from plug to socket block?

Yes. The 5m length is the total cable run from the moulded UK plug at one end to the socket block at the other, giving flexibility in positioning the block away from the wall outlet.

Does it have surge protection or individual switches?

No. This is a basic extension lead without surge protection, individual socket switches or indicator lights. For surge protection or switched sockets, see other models in the AVSL range at Niori.
