Description

The AVSL Mercury is a 100m reel of double-insulated speaker cable with a purple low-smoke zero-halogen (LSZH) outer sheath and two conductors, each built from 48 strands — 24 strands of 0.2mm oxygen-free copper paired with 24 strands of 0.2mm copper-clad aluminium (CCA). The combined cross-sectional area per conductor is 1.5mm², giving the cable an 8A maximum current rating and an 8mm overall diameter.

Designed for fixed audio installations in commercial, residential and hospitality environments, the cable pairs high flexibility with fire-safety compliance. The LSZH sheath material meets RoHS standards and produces minimal smoke and no halogenated fumes in the event of fire, making it suitable for enclosed spaces, escape routes and public buildings where toxic fume emission must be minimised. The purple outer sheath aids identification in multi-cable runs and pairs with violet or purple-themed AV installations.

The dual-material conductor design balances cost and performance: oxygen-free copper strands handle high-frequency audio transmission with low resistance, while CCA strands reduce overall cable weight and material cost without significantly compromising signal quality over typical domestic and light commercial installation distances (up to 30m).
