Description

The Mercury Standard Figure 8 speaker cable uses a twin-core flat design with 13 strands per core, split between 7 copper strands and 6 copper-clad aluminium strands. Each core measures 0.33mm² cross-sectional area and handles up to 2.5A continuous current, making the cable suitable for lower-power distributed audio systems, background music installations, and entry-level home speaker wiring.

The figure-8 profile keeps both cores joined in a single flat sheath that terminates cleanly into binding posts and spring terminals without needing to separate the cores along their length. A white polarity line runs along one edge of the black sheath, allowing installers to maintain consistent positive/negative orientation across multiple speaker runs. The 100m reel length suits commercial audio jobs requiring cable runs across multiple rooms or zones.

The copper/CCA conductor mix balances cost against performance for installations where the cable runs are relatively short and the speaker load is modest. The cable has a standard black PVC sheath suitable for indoor use. For outdoor runs the cable should be protected inside conduit or trunking to prevent UV degradation and moisture ingress.
