Description

The Merbessa is a round flush ceiling light with a shallow dome of white satin glass, crossed on one side by a trail of grey and white leaves. Small clips hold the glass to a white steel body, and the whole fitting measures 25cm across and just 7cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling. It takes one E27 bulb up to 25W, and the bulb is not included. Its IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

Because it keeps so close to the ceiling, it suits rooms where a pendant would crowd the head height: a landing, a hallway, a box room or a bedroom with a low ceiling. The compact size works well in smaller spaces, and the leaf pattern gives a plain ceiling a gentle, natural touch that sits comfortably with soft greys, whites and green plants. Satin glass softens and spreads the light from the bulb, so the room gets an even glow without bare glare. We like it in a child's room or a study as well, where a soft, spread light is kinder than a bare bulb. You pick the bulb, so the warmth of the light is your choice too.
